We’re very grateful to receive the support of corporate supporters and companies who believe in the power of research. Of course, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and Estee Lauder have been at the forefront of delivering awareness for breast cancer for many years. But you may not know that they also sponsor important conferences and events, that bring scientific researchers and the community together.
As one example, in 2017 they sponsored the inaugural Community Breast Cancer Research Update, held at Garvan during the Translational Breast Cancer Research Symposium in February. The community update was a fantastic opportunity for advocates, charities, cancer patients and survivors to hear first hand from researchers and speakers from around the world. They also put their products to great use, sponsoring the Look Good, Feel Better program that helps women with cancer have a bit of fun with makeup, helping them retain a sense of their femininity which can sometimes feel a bit lost when you’ve lost your hair and your eyelashes!
And in a further commitment to their desire to provide practical assistance to people going through treatment, we’re very proud that Estee Lauder Companies is working with us to spread the word about CanDo! Anyone who buys a product from their website during the month of October (in Australia), will receive a beautiful postcard telling them how CanDo can help. Estee Lauder has kindly printed the cards, and donated a substantial number of extras to CanDo so we can distribute far and wide.
If your organisation or event would like some too, please email us via email@example.com
There’s lots of pink stuff to buy in October and not all of it ends up helping people with cancer. Please consider buying products from companies who commit their support to research and the community. If you’re a corporate supporter who’d like to learn how you can help CanDo, please get in touch.
